Change in the Levels of Cellular Components during Differentiation of Penicillium

Abstract
|
|
|
Changes in the levels of ribonucleic acids, proteins, total carbohydrates, residual sugars, nitrate ions and pit values were determined in the differentiation of this fungus.
Shake and submerged culture techniques were applied in this study.
It was found that the sporulation occured by replacing the medium once. Sporulation followed by reduction of cellular components was revealed as non-growth associated life pattern. Antibiotic activity was also found at the stage of sporulation.
